Todd Helder Interview STMPD
Since the beginning of your career, you've been closely aligned with the STMPD Family with the label housing the vast majority of your tracks. What can you tell us about your experience with the organization and how it has had an impact on your career and music?
What I like the most about STMPD is their interest in new talented artists. They are not afraid to take risks if they really believe in the music. They have a small but powerful and personal team and I always love to just drop by in their studio for feedback and new ideas! Being part of this big family is a big honour to me and I'm sure to other members as well.

Your latest release on the label, "Trapped," is quickly approaching the 100,000 stream milestone on Spotify. Can you give us a closer look at your workflow by describing the making of this particular track?
The futuristic vibe is all over the track, taking you on a trip to different dimensions - that's how I would describe my latest track! Every Todd Helder tracks has this riser effect in the beginning of the track as well as a reese bass implemented in the track!
Last month, you played Tomorrowland for the second time as well as Ushuaia Ibiza. What have been some of your most memorable moments on-stage?
At Tomorrowland, I was playing on a STMPD stage with my brother CMC$ this year. As soon as I mixed in "Ride It," I could hear people sing along with the track which gave me goosebumps and a big smile!

Recently you performed an incredible short set on the renowned SLAM! Podcast. What was it like being in that studio and can you give us a peek into what goes on behind the scenes of their show?
Playing a DJ set on the SLAM Podcast was like a dream come true! It was on my bucket list!

Branding is so important for an artist, especially in the age of social media. How did you go about forming your own brand and why did you choose to incorporate 8Bit graphics so heavily into it?
This happened by chance because I play a lot of Minecraft with my friends on my own server.

Outside of the Todd Helder project, what else do you spend your time doing?
When I'm not in the studio I either watch a movie at the cinema or play video games with my friends, for example: Minecraft, Rainbow 6 Siege and others.

Lastly, what can we expect from you going forward into the rest of 2019?
I got a lot of cool music, shows, collabs coming up which I unfortunately can't tell you about just yet!
