I’ve worked with and for almost every big artist in this industry, and now it’s time to get back to my roots and focus on the fans who have always supported me. ​

Your discography reads like a who's-who of mainstage music, with collaborations alongside  titans like Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, W&W, Bassjackers, and Steve Aoki. What role do you think these big-name collaborations play for an artist's career in 2025? Furthermore, now  that you’re an established force yourself, how does that incredible resume influence the way  you decide to platform and champion rising talents like OUTRAGE, G-Sus and VSNS? 
For me, it has always been a dream to work with artists like the ones you mentioned. I’ve learned so much from them, and of course, those collaborations helped push my career forward. But over the  current situation I don't think big-name collaborations are necessary anymore for new artists. I  highly recommend new artists to not aim for that one Viral thing. Keep it Original! 

When I collaborate, it’s never about numbers or fame. It’s about passion and talent. I want to work  with artists who truly care about creating a great track and that’s exactly what happened with  producers like G-Sus, VSNS, and OUTRAGE. 

You can learn a lot from artists like them. I’m always open to working with anyone as long as the  production is professional or creatively outstanding.

At big venues, more and more people are just staring at their phones or filming the entire show  instead of actually partying. I’ve seen this at almost every event since COVID. It feels like people want to be entertained constantly, rather than just vibing to the music. Artists are adapting to this by making TikTok meme techno which might be fun for the younger generation,  but to me, it’s honestly ridiculous how they throw away legacies and their signature. You also notice that more and more people aren’t into this kind of music anymore and want quality productions to  come back.

We’ve gone from creating original festival anthems full of emotion to making soulless music with  one goal: going viral!

I try to look at it positively and give my best to adapt my roots to new sounds and ideas. As artists,  we need to evolve with the times and make the most out of every change. The same thing happened with big room a few years ago, everyone was doing it, and eventually it became overproduced and a  bit boring. Maybe it needed to fade out for a while so it could come back stronger. And I definitely  believe it will, because at festivals it still works incredibly well. ​

Can you give an outline on your journey from being a fan to managing a label like Legion Records as well as your other projects, Titanium Recordings and Soldier Network? 
I started making a name for myself little by little. As the years went by, I started meeting other EDM fans like me, but also some producers that were just starting out with basic productions. 

In 2018, I launched Legion Records with two friends. One handled 3D visuals and the other did the artwork. Our idea was to support small producers within our circle and gradually expand our reach. At first, Legion had a small but dedicated fanbase, and over time, it started to grow.

By the end of 2019, we hit a rough patch. Demo submissions slowed down and the releases didn’t stand out as much. Eventually, the label had to take a break. Then came the pandemic in 2020, which, ironically, became a turning point. My two original co-founders had to step away due to personal commitments, but during this time, I connected with more producers. Legion resumed releasing music, and from there, things started to take off again.

In 2021, I attempted to launch a sub-label called Titanium Recordings, but it didn’t pan out as expected. My close circle of friends was mainly focused on mainstage sounds, whereas Titanium was meant to be a fresh, more commercial brand. Then, in 2022, I launched Soldier Network, which focused on festival-style mainstage mixes of existing tracks. This project was successful, but in January 2024, we had to put it on hold due to time constraints. But who knows? Maybe we’ll revive it in the future.

So Legion continued on its trajectory, growing stronger. I must say that in 2022 we were at our peak. Our social media channels were packed with people enjoying our releases, and we launched a Discord server that quickly became very active. That community we formed is something that still makes me happy to this day.

However, by the end of 2024, I decided to take a break. Legion’s Phase 1 ended because my original team wasn’t able to dedicate as much time to it due to personal matters. But I have to give special thanks to my friends Azael, TOSAK, and OverLine who convinced me to bring Legion back. Now, we’re launching Phase 2 this March, and we’re incredibly excited to continue sharing music with our listeners who have stuck with us.​

What inspired you to pick up a career in music rather than any other job?
I love music, I was the kid doing everything and being everywhere wearing earphones. Entertainment is my life, first as dancer, then as DJ and eventually picking up the path of producing, which is a never ending learning-phase. I believe I was born to entertain ON & OFF stage and I wish to make others happy with my love for music. As long I can do that, I will be producing and playing music 

Being as decentralized as this whole industry is with different bookers in every club circuit and a whole cast of various A&R members to try and gear music towards, how did you go about navigating this chaotic scene and manage to make a name for yourself?
Honestly, I would never have imagined that people from literally all around the world take note of me and my career, it is just something which seems to have happened overnight. I was not prepared to be dealing with labels, magazines, music platforms and countless requests from peers and colleagues alike. I have a small but very efficient team around me to assist me in such matters and I am positive that they are doing a great job, us and my brand moving in the right direction. But let me point out - self marketing is a tough job and takes way too much time of my day I would rather spend producing music. 

You mentioned hardships, well nothing worth having comes easy right? I think in general the industry is still very dominated by men, specially in a traditional society like Japan I sometimes had a hard time standing my ground, but it is getting better and i wont ever let myself being discouraged by such minor setbacks as inequality. 

At what point in your career will you have thought to yourself, "This is it, I've finally made it."?
I am happy about the progress the brand Tiara made, mostly in 2019 in terms of DJing half around the globe and in all major clubs and events in Japan. When it comes to producing I have to say, as sad it may sound, Covid19 helped me a lot to focus and to spend sometimes 3-4 days without leaving the studio. Something like that was unimaginable pre-pandemic as simply my DJ and social schedule was way too hectic. Last and this year I was able to release on major labels such as Revealed, Mixmash, Hexagon HQ, Bring the Kingdom and that is due to the pandemic affecting nightlife. 

We have high profile remixes in the pipeline, but I am unfortunately not allowed to talk about it yet. 

To make it short, I don't think there will be ever a time where I say "I made it". I am a work in progress and never stop learning. 

How did you get your start in music production?
I've had an interest in music for my whole life. My sisters and especially my father would always have music playing in our house when I was growing up. 

When I got older, I thought it was so cool to see how big the EDM scene had grown. The first concert I attended was in 2014 to Watch Steve Angello's ¨Size Show¨ in Stockholm. After that, I saw Avicii there as well and it was then that I knew this was something I wanted to do.
 
My friend had bought a new Mac and studio monitors, he had even bought a small midi-keyboard. I thought it was so cool and wanted that myself. My own laptop at the time was a bad PC from my school, but I downloaded FL Studio and started to play around with it. I thought I was on fire for those first 2 years, but looking bad those tracks were just awful! 

After those two years, I focused more and more to make higher quality tracks that could stand beside the best of them. I spent many days and countless hours finishing my new songs and eventually I was able to sign and release "Robbery" on Featured Records. The response to it was incredible and it made me extremely happy and proud. The journey has only gone upwards from there!

You joined the reminted Futurized Team not too long ago. How has your experience been with them and where do you see them fitting into the scene moving forward?
Yea! It has been amazing so far! I’ve been talking with Jurgen (Debris) a bit and we actually released a remix together last year. After a while, I wanted to help Futurized in some way because I think it’s a very interesting project. So Peter and Jurgen invited me to be an A&R on their team. What I like with Futurized is that we want to connect and help the artists in so many ways, not just as an producer but also to help them get into bigger networks. Together, Futurized wants to build a big music-family, and that’s what I love about it!

Speaking of Futurized, your latest track, "Level Up," just released with some incredible support! Can you walk us through your creative process on that one and how it all came together?
The thing with ¨Level Up¨ was that I was stuck on it for months. I had the first idea with the bassline only. I tried everything: a LFOd lead, a simple pluck lead, and a bunch of other stuff. But one day I tried it with a vocal-lead, and then I found the ¨La la la¨ sample and it fit perfectly! Everything fell into place pretty quickly after that! That was pretty lucky because I had thoughts of scraping the whole idea at first! So it become to be like and mix between future house and a little bit of slap house. At least I can say that I’m pretty proud of it!

What's going to be next for you heading into the rest of 2021? What sort of goals have you set for yourself?
My goals in 2021 is to grow overall as an artist and build my brand. To do that, I'm planning on releasing more songs this year in a lot of different styles. I’ve been trying out a lot of different genres lately and I'll try releasing more pop songs in the future with the next one coming this month!

Another goal I have is to play more shows. My manager and I had planned for me to play more shows here in Sweden but given the state of things, obviously that hasn't happened. So I hope to play more shows when this shit is over, and I’m ready!

What inspired you to get into production?
I was onboard the EDM train from the very start and all the classics. But it was hardstyle that really took my heart and I started producing it when I was just seven years old. Some of the producers I looked up to were Gunz4Hire, Frontliner, Noisecontrollers, Headhunterz, and many more. That's where the inspiration to reunite hardstyle sounds with big room came from. 

It can be difficult to nail and perfect a signature track that can carry you forward in your career. How did you go about making your track for Nik Cooper and can we expect to see it in more releases in the future?
​Yes, it is really complicated. The first thing that came to mind was combining a Hardstyle screech with elements from the Big Room, I thought no one had ever done something like that, and I thought it could be something innovative and full of energy. I think this is going to be something that I carry into my future releases so keep an eye out for that!

What goals have you set for yourself in your career? 
I hope to continue releasing better tracks more frequently and keep climbing to higher levels. There are so many more labels I want to sign to and people I want to get support from. The only motivation I have is to be able to improve myself more every day, and to be able to inspire others, I think that is the main thing!

How did you first get into music and who was the artist that inspired you to start producing music?
The story starts a long time ago, during my childhood. I think I got into music because of my parents. They actually were listening to a lot of different styles, and had a crazy collection of CDs. During the iPod era when I was a kid I was literally listening to thousands of songs all the time, which I believe has helped me shape a musical culture. At the time I remember going to one of my parents' best friends' house in Morocco where he had a setup of CDJ players / turntables and a mixer, and when I first saw this I didn't understand anything about it, but I was just amazed of how cool it was to be able to really touch the music, feel the music and control the music.

Later on during my high school times I used to play a lot of parties and then got to play my first clubs and festivals when I started making my own music. At this moment my music was very influenced by the Swedish and Dutch scenes, and as a French guy I was also a lot into Daft Punk, Justice, DJ Mehdi and so on. I have to say the guys who got me into electronic music include the likes of Avicii, Dada Life, David Guetta, Nicky Romero, Bob Sinclar, Axwell, Hardwell, Afrojack and more. Today I'm lucky enough to be working on a daily basis with some of them, tour the world and play in Europe, US, Africa, Asia, and even on the Great Wall of China.
 
Having released music on both Hexagon and Protocol, how would you describe your style and what are your main influences?
I am part of the Protocol and Hexagon artists since a little more than 2 years now, as well as recently Mix Feed, Darklight, and a few other prestigious labels that I cannot announce yet as stuff is on the way, but really blessed and grateful about it. It's really hard for me to put a name on the music I make as you might have noticed, I am releasing many different genres recently. I would range myself from electro to tech house, including both happy and dark vibes in my tracks. I am trying to make music as an experience rather than a specific genre. When making music I never ask myself shall I go Electro House, Future House or Progressive... I am not trying to chase any trend or invent new ones, but rather thinking is this thing that I am doing now something that I like or not, and does it fit my values, spirit and image. So if I had to define my musical identity, music-wise I wouldn't go as far as just electronic music. This way I can stay true to myself and you can even expect some unexpected kind of tracks, and who knows I might make some non-electronic music someday! As I was mentioning earlier, my energy comes from music and travels, and as big as the world is I believe this is the reason you can feel the diversity in the music that I make.

Your new song ‘You’re Not Mine’ nicely combines unique sound design and catchy vocals. What do you like the most about creating a track? Songwriting or producing?
Thanks for the kind words. Really happy about all this enthusiasm around this track. To be honest we have been working on this one with my friend Kamil Ghaouti from Morocco for almost a year, and I believe this really is the best one we've ever produced so far. We're also extremely happy with LauraBrown's work as I have rarely seen such amazing singers working this hard and this fast on music to deliver a really solid topline and unforgettable lyrics. I suggest you all to keep an eye on this Denmark export as you can expect some crazy masterpieces coming up on her side. You are talking about the catchiness of the track and uniqueness of its sound, which is a really interesting point. I must say as a creative-minded person that I am a lot more into the creation process than the technical side of music production, i.e. mixing and mastering plus everything that's about sound design, layering, dynamics and so on. I could talk about this for hours, but I also believe that in a way, if I had to choose between songwriting and producing, I would go for producing. It is somehow a way to explore infinite possibilities from things that already exists. During the songwriting process you are often sitting with a guitar or piano and looking for ideas to come out of your head. What I like about the producing process is that it works a complete opposite way, as instead of having ideas popping out of your head, you keep on searching for the right sound by tweaking synths, samples, vocals, drums and every possible element and you can somehow discover the music you are making without thinking about it before.
 
How do you feel about streaming live-sets instead of playing for real crowds? And does it make you play different music in those sets than what you would usually play at festivals?
It's sad to see with these tough pandemic times that all shows and gigs across the globe are being canceled one by one, but on the other side I am quite grateful about having time to work more on music, which is something I didn't have much time for before. Of course I do miss a lot the real shows and real crowds, touring, festivals and so on. But I am very excited about livestreams because it's a way to offer a completely different type of content. It also enables you to have a full control on your show, from the music to the visuals and the whole setup. The music I play during livestreams is obviously completely another kind of vibe, as I have much more freedom and I am besides that seeing new and different reactions from the online crowds. During lockdown times I have been able to livestream about 5 or 6 sets from my home in Marrakech, Morocco, and I am happy to have been involved in fundraising festivals to help out for a good cause.

What artist would you like to work with and which elements of your own production process would you like to put into this collaboration?
There are so many artists I'd love to work with, and I believe it is because of the universe they are offering with their music. I am a huge fan of names like Disclosure, Kaytranada, Duck Sauce, Oliver Heldens, Eric Prydz, AlunaGeorge, Sofi Tukker, Adriatique and many more. I think the elements of my own production process would basically come from my spirit as a DJ, meaning I believe have my own vision of how tracks might sound to the crowds and which directions we should take to reach expected perceptions. This goes by the use of the right samples, effective arrangements and some of my signature bass lines.
 
What are your thoughts on the current EDM scene compared to how it was when you started as an artist?
I see so many people criticizing EDM, from when I started to now, so let's talk about positive stuff. The EDM scene today might feel like an oversaturated market to a lot of artists, to me we are living such an amazing experience as you are able to make it with one hit overnight, and we are giving more and more chances and opportunities to young and upcoming talents. Before you had to be either a superstar to release on labels or invest a lot in your music to make it successful. Today anybody is able to produce music, reach a decent level fast thanks to the abundance of tutorials available on YouTube, and you can even distribute your music on all major platforms for peanuts. Moreover, you can promote your music for free everywhere, and sometimes get support from key opinion leaders easily on platforms that we not even existing two years ago like TikTok. And with all these things made easy, you can only foster creativity and see the emergence of many trends, genres, artists, styles you name it, so let's all be grateful! We are living in an amazing era that's full opportunities so never give up and you will see hard work and dedication does pay off!
 
Looking into the future what can we expect from Charles B?
Music, good music, and more music. I cannot announce this yet but if you want some hints, I am soon to join labels of very big artists including some that used to be #1 DJ in the world, and of course you can also expect some more tracks on labels I am already signed to. As you might have heard recently in their livesets, DJ Snake and Malaa supported an upcoming Charles B release with my French homie Frents, which also shows the darker side of my music project, including some heavy house and tech house bangers for the clubs. I will be releasing a lot of music every month till the end of the year, and I am already stacking releases till 2021. Besides that I am currently working since more than a year on a project to involve a lot of artists and friends on my side and I can only tell you that this will be a great adventure and that everyone is welcome to join the journey! To finish this interview on a high note, I will quote Ono's words often said by John Lennon : "A dream alone is a dream. A dream together is reality." So don't give up on your dreams, as they're meant to be lived! Many thanks to Chris, Lex, and The QR Network for having me.

How did you first get into the EDM scene? 
I first discovered EDM when I bought David Guetta's album back in 2012. It was an album like no other back then. That really fuelled my interest in EDM. Then I stumbled upon Tomorrowland live sets on YouTube around the same time, watching sets from Hardwell and Skrillex. That was when I first discovered music festivals. When I saw so many people were partying together in those videos, I was truly amazed. Since then I had always dreamt to play at a festival.

With that dream in mind, I started to research about this scene more and more. I found out that these DJs made EDM on just a normal computer. Then I thought, I have a computer too, I probably can give this a shot too. Soon after I started playing around with Virtual DJ on my computer just out of curiosity. But after a while the interest drifted away.
 
Eventually, a few years passed by and after my secondary school exams, I finally decided to pick up DJing and commit to it. I joined a DJ club in my new school. I got the hang of it within a few months and with that newfound motivation, I set my sights on making my own edits and music. I downloaded Ableton and started religiously watching tutorials from Youtubers like Zen World and Sadowick.
 
Finally, in 2017, I managed to finish my first original track that I felt was good enough to release. It was called "Overdrive" and I was super happy that it managed to get 15,000 streams on Soundcloud, which was massive to me at that time.

There's an undeniable resurgence of the big room scene with many big names coming back to the genre to provide new music. Where do you see this subgenre heading in the future?
The future is definitely promising for big room. The community might not be as big as the early to mid-2010s, but it is definitely stronger than ever! And now a lot of big artists, especially in Asia, are starting to put out more big room tracks, which is very heart-warming to see. With the continued evolution of the genre, I can definitely see big room coming back to its previous glory.

Can you walk us through the creation of your latest release and debut on Nik Cooper, "Universe" so we can get a glimpse into your creative process?
The idea for this song came about two years ago. I made a drop idea as a follow up to "The Logical Song" bootleg I did together with Gustaf Bjornberg. Then as new projects came along, I completely forgot about the initial drop idea. Two years passed and then COVID-19 struck. With my upcoming shows cancelled, I decided to take some time to go through all my unfinished ideas, and I felt that this idea had the most potential.

Hi Sam Doll, thanks for joining us! For readers who might not know you yet, how would you describe your music and style?
Hi! I would describe my style as pop -grunge -rock.
 
What made you decide to create music and become an artist in the first place?
I actually worked in the music business in Toronto for 5 years before deciding to quit and become a musician! Music was always something I loved, but I never considered seriously becoming in an artist until I got jealous of the artists I was working for - that in conjunction with realizing I was not built for a 9-5 job.
 
Who are your favourite artists at the moment?
I have been on a Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats TEAR this year. Them and Kim Petras I am also super obsessed with.
 
What can you tell us about your latest single: 'Your Turn'?
Your Turn is a song I wrote when my ex boyfriend viewed my profile on Linkedin... and I was just like... what is this bullshit? I wish it was the olden days when people couldn't hide behind social media, and if they wanted to call you, they HAD to call you, instead of leave ambiguous hints. I think a lot of people will get away with not showing they care if they can, and I don't do that. 
 
How would you describe the work to someone who has never heard it?
I'd say it's like dreamy lyrical pop with a bit of an edge. Think Lana Del Rey meets Courtney Love (or at least that's what I'm going for!)
 
Could you expand further on the music video you shot for your latest single? (Behind the scenes details, symbolism etc)
The video is meant to represent the phases of a breakup -- being a mess, meeting up with your girlfriends, getting them to take care of you, indulging in self care, drinking your sorrows, and then getting on with your life. The song is basically about a someone who's tired of looking like a desperate loser and would like their ex to look like the desperate loser for a change, so even though in this video I'm clearly hurting and going through a rough time, I makes the choice not to give in and call my ex or play lame social media games because I deserve to be called. Hopefully, the message of the song and the video is to be strong and only put up with what you deserve. If someone wants you they can come get you, and if they don't, you'll be fine either way. 
 
BTS - On the real, being a musician has so many costs, that I was determined to make a music video that told a story and added to the song, while being both cheap and visually pleasing. If you have a creative idea, I don't think you need to spend a lot of money to make effective visual content. This was shot in my living room with a cool light I bought on Amazon, my camera sitting on top of a pile of books, and my 2 friends hands using stuff I had around my house. Edited on iMovie. SOMEBODY STOP ME!
 
You recently were on tour supporting Prozzak on their Canada tour! Tell us about that experience and did you have a favourite city that you performed at on tour?
That experience was one of the best weeks of my life. I am so thankful to Prozzak for giving me my first taste of touring, they're pros they've been doing this for 20 + years - so this tour was a big boy tour and I was so lucky to be able to go. It's insane for an artist at my level to be playing shows like that. The venues were big, they were packed, and I, like everyone there, LOVE the band and love 90's nostalgia. As for favourite city, I love Canada so much (if I didn't live here I would move here it's legit my favourite place) - so every city was amazing. The Toronto show was extra fun because my family and friends were there 
 
So what happens now? With the year coming to a close, do you get to enjoy a break or are things still as busy as ever?!
I'm chilling HARD for the Holidays! But back to the grind in January because money doesn't sleep baby! (Not like I'm making any yet, but I plan on it in 2020)
 
What other artists would you love to collaborate with and why?
Chris LaRocca is popping off right now! His songs are amazing, and he, like me, really makes sure his lyrics tell a story - we have the same producer so I think I can make this collab happen. Him, and Lady Gaga, because she is my Queen and I am her Little Monster.
 
Best music concert/performance/event you've attended and why?
It's a tie between The Rolling Stones and Jack White. The Rolling Stones were an emotional experience for me, as in, I cried the whole show. There's pictures. I was beside myself! Couldn't believe my eyes! And I don't think I've ever rocked out harder than Jack White - I love him and all his bands so it was hit after hit. It was the Blunderbus tour too so it was really beautifully done and at a smaller venue which I love.
 
What do you think has been the biggest challenge for you so far in your career?
Choosing to be an artist was definitely the hardest part because that comes with daily doubts, and it's really hard to psych yourself up sometimes. Always thinking someones better than you, no ones going to hear you, wonder why you're doing this. I think that's the hardest part to just shut that part of your brain up and convince yourself that you're not an idiot for being an adult artist.
 
Any more news we should know about?! What are your upcoming plans for the coming months and what can we expect to see?
I'm going to release an EP in early 2020 called "I Like My Men Rotten" which I'm really looking forward to. It will contain all the singles I put out in 2019 plus a few more HOT NEW TRACKS! And planning on doing a big showcase in Toronto in May, before kicking off a small Canadian tour in the summer!
 
Advice for aspiring artists and people wanting to follow in your footsteps?
Trust that what you're doing is good. I try not to worry about what people around me are doing because I literally wasn't built to do anything else. Even if it hurts, I'm going to keep doing it, so no point constantly questioning myself. Just be on your own team.

In an effort to improve the mental health of its users, Instagram has implemented a worldwide roll-out of hiding likes for other accounts' posts. What this means is that users will only be able to see a like counter for their own posts, but others will be hidden. Now you can go and see which people liked another's post and count them yourself, but that'd be quite the hassle. 

For label managers, artists, and promoters, being able to see the like counter is a vital tool for keeping our finger on the pulse of the community. It helps us see what people do and don't respond to from other accounts. For example, when looking at other blogs on Instagram, being able to see if photos of the artists perform better than more text-heavy ones or videos helps me decide how to frame my own content.

As a label manager it's the same story: when deciding what sort of content to post on the Loca Recordings Instagram account, I checked what other labels were doing and noticed that artworks got more engagement than plain pictures of the artists. Now that likes are hidden, I will not be able to glean similar insights in the future or check if my current assumptions still hold true. 

While I am not a music artist myself, I work with enough to understand the importance of seeing other artists' like counter. Some may argue that you should be able to work off of your own analytics, but that only helps you cater to your own followers. What most people want to do is grow their accounts which means analyzing what works for other artists and figures in the industry. 

My proposed solution is to have a setting available for users which has two switches: one for disabling OTHERS from seeing likes on YOUR posts (similar to how Soundcloud does with their "quiet mode" setting) and another for disabling the like counters for OTHERS posts (like how the Instagram app is right now.) By having this two way street, Instagram can give users the options to take control over their own mental well-being while allowing businesses and influencers to continue gleaning insights from others' accounts around the platform. 

It's been almost a year since our first interview together! What have been some of the highlights and changes that have happened over the past eleven months? 
Well for starters, I bought a new house & converted one of the rooms into a home studio. I've spent nearly every single day of 2019 in that room writing and recording new songs and have written nearly two-hundred more since we last spoke. I just got back from a three day recording session with Maximals and my Vocalkitchen brothers: Nino Lucarelli and Bryant Powell in Italy. It's amazing to see our little Arizona VK family go from humble beginnings to traveling the world together through the amazing vehicle of music.

Once I finished recording the song I posted a video of it on Instagram, that's when Jac & Harri messaged me to see if it was available. They ended up buying the song and began to work on it - not too long after that, they messaged me letting me know Thomas Gold had heard it and was interested in hopping on to add his flare to the track. I couldn't possibly be happier with how this collaboration turned out and it is shared with such great people which makes it that much better!

Walk us through a day in the life of Chad Kowal. 
I usually wake up way too early in the morning and can't fall back asleep because my mind is already buzzing with music. I make something quick to eat then head right into the studio. Sometimes I open up an instrumental track that a DJ has sent for me to write over, other days I write something completely from scratch. I spend anywhere from 6-8 hours in that room starting with the writing process, to producing the vocals, all the way to final mix. From there I will spend time organizing my back catalog of available vocals to be uploaded on the Vocalkitchen website. I try to go over this process as many times as I can in a day without passing out at the keyboard, or driving myself crazy and losing passion for what I love to do.

One trick I practice while brainstorming is making myself listen to different genres of music back to back. This helps me be able to see things from different perspectives and keep fresh ideas flowing. For instance a band like My Chemical Romance might not write a song in the same way that Lady Gaga does but they're both amazing in their own right.

Seeing as 2020 is right around the corner, what are some of your New Year's resolutions? 
My goal above all else is to collaborate with as many DJs/producers that I can through the incredible art of storytelling. I want to show the world each side of myself and all the diverse influences that make up who I am as an artist.
