Let's start at the beginning with your musical background. What got you into EDM?
I started off by listening to a lot of pop music when I was younger. Slowly I started to develop an interest for music by people like Avicii, which helped found my love for electronic music. After this I found the "Future House" genre and was obsessed with artists like Oliver Heldens, Curbi and Mesto. This made me want to try out production for myself. I also played the drums at the time, but although I enjoyed this I always wanted to know how to make full songs.
What made you pivot stylistically over to future bass?
Before I switched to trap and future bass, I was making mainly deep "Selected" style house.Eventually I got bored of making style and wanted to try something new. It all started with the remix of "Somebody" that I made with Jagsy. This was the first future bass track I released and I really enjoyed trying something different. After that, I carried on with experimenting with different genres. A lot of my original unreleased music has examples of this which will hopefully be released soon! I'm also moving towards doing more pop music as well and incorporating my sound in different ways!

How did you go about networking and growing your circles for collaborations and top-tier releases?
I originally joined the "Future of House" Facebook group and got to know a lot of people through it, but now no one really uses it. I also Skyped a lot with people I knew, and gradually people they knew joined in with the calls and we got to know even more people! This made it easy to connect. For collaborations I mainly like to work with people I already know, such as Jonth, RudeLies, Jagsy, or Vosai, as I know they have similar work flows to me. Although, if someone messages me with a good idea I'm usually down to work on it!

A lot of contacts for labels I've just built by finding the names of label owners and messaging them on Facebook. I did this with Gustas, the owner of Kernkraft who later became my manager. This is helpful as well now, as he has a lot of contacts, so between us we have a wide circle of people we know. Facebook has been the main way I've gotten to know people and definitely the most valuable tool to me when networking and building connections.

How was your experience meeting everyone at ADE?
ADE was amazing, one of the best weeks of my life! It was so dope to meet everyone and party together! I'd met a lot of people previously and already knew them, so it was great to meet up with them again as well. My favourite night of the event was definitely Monstercat, especially watching Modestep play. The music they played in their set was crazy, Jonth was head-banging to it for two hours straight! I also really enjoyed the STMPD event, as there was a big group of about fifteen of us there together, with acts like Osrin, Brooks, Todd Helder and Martin Garrix playing, making it an unforgettable night. A big thanks to Jordin de Jong as well for letting us stay at his place and being a great host!
Tell us about your latest release on VXII Radio!
So Jonth and I just released our remix of 'Beach House' by The Chainsmokers on VXII Radio, which premiered by Trap City. I was talking to Jesper on Monday and he suggested we make a remix. By Friday we had the finished master. We combined Jonth's addictive melodies with my more commercial trap sound, to create this track and I'm really happy with the result and hope people like it!

What are you looking to accomplish next with your music?
My dream has always been to make it to bigger labels and be able to do music professionally. I also to start playing shows soon. My next goal though is to sign a track to a major label. I've mainly been focusing on remixes and bootlegs of popular tracks at the moment to build my name and audience, so being able to release an original track and get the same response would be amazing. I'd like to end with a shout out to all the people that I've worked with or have supported my music so far. I've got a lot of new music coming soon which I'm excited to share, so keep an eye out!

A huge thank you to Tom Wilson for taking the time to answer our questions! Be sure to follow him on social media  for all the latest releases and updates!
