Tell us more about the making of your latest Spinnin' Talent Pool release, "Power Up" with Aarre! What went on behind the scenes and give us a bit of a timeline from conception to release.
I have used lots of video game influences in my tracks. You can hear that on tracks like "Power Up", "Pixels," and "GO!" So I came up with the idea of "Power Up" nearly two years ago, basically same time I came up with the idea of "Pixels". At first the track was a solo, then collaboration with another artist, then abandoned for one year. I still liked the idea after one year so I sent my parts of the track to Aarre and he finished it, with his own original twist. Aarre had released on Spinnin' Talent Pool too, so it wasn't hard to get A&R's attention on the track.
It's been almost four months since the last release from your label, Third Dimension. Could you give us an update on its status?
Yes, true. It has been really hard maintaining my own musical project and a record label during my service. But don't worry, it's not dead. As a producer, how do you go about navigating trends and deciding where to go with your sound next? How do you strike a balance between being original while being accessible enough to be placed on playlists? I've stayed in fresh house all my career. Sounds and ideas might change, but there's still old Triple M somewhere in the track. I really haven't followed trends for a while, but I produced tracks I've wanted to hear. A good track is a good track. You can still hear some 2012 inspired progressive house blowing up on big labels, as well as some festival trap and big room so trends aren't everything.
We saw that you've just created an adorable little mascot for the Triple M project! Tell us more about Trippy and his role in your branding strategy moving forward!
I have always had something like this in my mind. Then when I finally got a new logo this year, everything just sort of fell into place. Trippy's shape comes from my symbol logo, which comes from three M-letters put together. You will get to know him much better in the future, just keep an eye on my Instagram page! Looking ahead, what are some of your goals for the rest of the year and beyond? My goals for the rest of the year is to move from Spinnin' Talent Pool to other Spinnin' sublabels, Big collaborations are coming up but can't say much about that just yet!
Thanks so much to Triple M for taking the time to answer our questions! Be sure to check him out on social media using the links below!
