Corx is a Peruvian producer who focuses primarily on Groove and Tribal House tracks. He has has tracks signed by Hoist Records, Get Down Recordings, Dirty Beats Records, Groove Cartel Records, SINKA, SPECTRUM, GLORIE, and Art&Music. He's seen support from artists such as Dannic, Tom Staar, DANNIC, Promise Land, Corey James, Will K, HIIO, Micha Moor, Junkie Kid, Juicy M,, Vigel, Pessto, SAG, Divolly & Markward, and Drop Deparment. His latest single with Mathias D. is out now on Art&Music Recording. You can give it a listen below!
How did you first get into production and what drew you specifically to Groove and Tribal House music?
I knew I loved the sound of the drums ever since I was thirteen and just starting production. Like most people, production just started out as a hobby, but three years later I made the decision to delve deeper into the world of music creation. I was really inspired by artists like Tom Staar, Kryder, Will K, Corey James, Crusy, Abel Ramos, and Jose de Mara and it wasn’t until I got my first international support by Dannic that I learned that the genre I had been loving and making was called Tribal House!

What is the hardest part about bringing energy to a Groove/Tribal track?
For me, the hardest part of a Tribal track is the drop since I particularly like to do a lot of layers of percussion to obtain a sound that is unique and my own. I have a folder with my favorite and most-used percussions which could be considered my signature sounds but the secret really is with the layering. My breaks are really very simple but at the same time it’s important that they set the tone and atmosphere of the track before the next drop.

Tell us about some of your collaborations and your latest track Could you tell us about what it was like working with artists like Sunday Noise, Mathias D. and Mr. Sid?
Well actually, Zulu is a track from about a year ago; Mathias and I had to have a lot of patience when we were getting this track released. It’s also pretty interesting because it’s sort of like a time capsule of that time in our production and I’m really happy about it finally coming out! As for the other collaborators, Mr. Sid is a great man and a great friend. He’s helped me so much since I started out in Tribal and is always there to listen to my tracks and give me feedback. He’s just an overall and amazing guy who has really helped me move forward in this industry and I can’t thank him enough!

go listen to my new remix for Bad Bunny □ I hope you like it. Link on my Bio. #futurebass #Trap #Latino #Edm

You recently released a Future Bass remix of Bad Bunny’s “Amor Foda” and have some older Moombah and Bass House tracks. What inspired you to break away from Groove in this way?
I wouldn’t say I was breaking away from Groove because those other genres are more of a supplement for me. Groove and Tribal are all that I think about and it’s what I’m the most passionate about. Making Future Bass and Pop songs relaxes me and brings out the best in me. I work on those type of songs when I have run out of Groove ideas and it gives me an outlet and keeps the creative juices flowing. I have quite a few non-Groove tracks that are finished and I’ll continue making and releasing them, but I have no plans to ever leave Groove.

Do you ever plan on revisiting your YouTube channels to give producers more remakes and tutorials?
Yes, I plan to return with tutorials of everything I've learned so far. I hope to do it soon, but for now I just don’t have the time.

What do you do outside of music production?
I study at the University and have a job on the side. I also have a girlfriend who I love dedicating time to so at the moment I’m running a bit short on time for music, but I’m sure that I’ll find the right balance in the future!

What sort of plans do you have for the future?
I’m hoping to sign tracks to Armada, Flamingo, Revealed and Kryteria and continue working with some of the most recognized artists in the genre. When I got supported by Dannic, I couldn’t sleep because I was just so ecstatic and energized by the fact that I was slowly gaining some recognition. I’m looking forward to continue my growth and hopefully bring some joy to those who have followed me from start.
