Interview with Italian Producer: Zoibaf

What have you been up to since your last release?
Since "New World," I've been working on some new ideas but I especially wanted to focus on increase my social media audience and now I'm focusing on my new YouTube channel.

How did you work to increase your following?
I tried to find ideas for a video that could be viral. My videos have had better results than I would have ever expected, and then I started to find groups of people who like my genre and slowly, people started to follow me! Instagram groups are a fantastic tool!

Can you walk us through the creative process of your latest track with Jex and what it was like working with her?
I started my track "Break Through" one year ago and I recently finished the instrumental part. I started to search for a singer which is the hardest part because I always try to find the best one. Finally, I listened a song on YouTube where there was a female singer with a beautiful voice and she turned out to be Jex! I contacted her to ask about a collaboration and she agreed to work on the track after hearing what I had made. Working with her was very easy because she is very open to requests and extremely talented. I'm very very happy to have worked with her!

Tell us about your process for working with original vocals?
Vocalists usually get the full instrumental and then send the acapella back. When I work with a singer, I always send him or her the instrumental idea and they have free reign about what they want to sing about as long as it sounds good to me! Then I put the vocal in the track and tweak the instrumentals to fit what they sent!

What have been some of the inspirations for your music and what new artists have you been watching?
I don't really have any specific inspirations. I like to listen to new music every day so I can learn more about what is happening around the industry. Marshmello is surely a great figure in the scene and then I also watch artists like Impulse and Steven Vegas who are also great!

What types of music can we expect from you coming up?
Progressive House, if you couldn't tell from my past tracks, is my favourite style. I've worked in other genres but I've always hoped that progressive will re-enter the scene in a big way one day. I definitely have more progressive stuff coming down the pipeline but I can't exclude other genres. I'll try any new style!

So where are you hoping to go next with your music and career?
I hope to improve my music song after song, and maybe one day collaborate with a famous artist. In the end, my dream is to make music my job full time.
