As part of our coverage leading up to Imagine Festival, we're excited to present an interview with Patrick Bandy who will be performing at the festival next week.
Heady Made Weird Stage (TBD) &
Shake on Shakedown(F 3pm-4pm)
How long have you been DJing/Producing?
I've been producing for nine years and DJing for ten!

What's the story behind the name?
My parents went to a Led Zepplin concert and badabing-badaboom, I came out eight months later as Patrick Bandy

How would you describe your music?
Simply: Bass Music.
What are you working on currently?
Well I am currently working on five collaboration with other Atlanta artists but I am gonna keep that on the down low. Let's just say one of them rhymes with Rift Dojo and the other with Phenotype

What artists do you have on repeat right now?
Easy: Tool, Sultan Khan, Beats Antique, The Andrews Sisters, and Caspa.

Have you played Imagine before?
Yes. In 2017, I played the sunrise set Monday morning from 5am to 6am. It was a spiritual experience to watch the sun rise in front of my eyes while playing music for the festival goers. I also played in 2018 on the Groove Cruise pirate ship stage. For the first eighteen minutes, I was asked to play house music, which is a genre I enjoy, but it was sort of strange to get that sort of direction for my set. At any rate, it was still a great experience.

What's your favorite IMF memory?
For sure it was meeting up with my friends right as I stepped off stage in 2018. They were there right as I stepped off to greet me with open arms.

Why should festival goers check out your set in particular? What do you bring to the performance?
I bring a sound that breaks the current paradigm of bass music. The status quo annoys me. I hate how people often chip away at their true selves only so they can sell an incorporated version of themselves. I don't do that. I make music from the soul. Soul music.

Who are your top 3 headliners to catch this year?
Tipper, Jade Cicada, and Detox Unit.

Add any other information you want to share here.
Big ups to Bethanna for setting up this interview!
