It's been just over a year since the last new Hardwell mix. You could argue that he's been busying creating mixes for Hardwell on Air or "Off the Record," but many believe it's the Revealed team running those mixes and he just contributes the voiceovers remotely without much attention to the track selection itself. His main social media accounts have also been dark since his podcast appearance and the "Story of Hardwell" campaign. However, one observant reader has shed light on a new mixtape dropped on Robbert's private Instagram account, complete with artwork and the name, "Nostalgia." Big room or even fans of EDM in general are in for a bit of a shock, as the 100-minute long mix consists entirely of throwback, well "nostalgic," hip-hop tracks. It's no secret that hip-hop has had a huge impact on Hardwell's DJing and music taste, as he talked about in an interview with Insomniac. So it would seem that he is truly going back to his roots and putting something out to the world, albeit in the most understated manner. Does this mean he's coming back to the festival scene soon? Truthfully it looks less likely as every month goes by. This mix appears to just be a small blip and homage to his own roots and perhaps he'll come back even stronger than before. Until then, you can check out the mix using the link below. Listen to the Mix on Dropbox
