While the once prominent Spinnin' sublabel, Fonk Recordings, was making waves with their uniquely groovy and energetic sounds, they've become a shell of their former self. With plays decreasing and releases less frequent, it seems that time may claim another soon enough. Meanwhile, Zero Cool continues to push out new and worthy talents, the latest of which is ALEJANDRO from the United States.
For comparison, you look at the Fonk release on the same day and you'll see perhaps a ray of hope as Shake Coconut has been working in the Fonk style for some years. To see them promoted up to a major label at least reaffirms that the imprint is seeing out new talents. The track itself is rather forgettable with its overused sample pack vocal and STMPD influence.
If nothing else, ZERO COOL is hands-down putting in the work and opening doors for worthwhile producers to release their unique tracks. While some of them are certainly duds, "Farra" is not. ALEJANDRO on SPOTIFY | INSTAGRAM | FACEBOOK | SOUNDCLOUD
